A spotlight on the Integrated Community Equipment Service

30 July 2024

We have completed our report looking into accessibility and awareness of the Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) and have published our findings.

ICES is a joint funded service by Kent County Council and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board, which works with social prescribers to support the community with equipment, such as walking aids to promote individuals independence.

Our report focused on the levels of awareness and barriers to accessibility within different ethnic groups. The three groups that were chosen for the project were Nepalese, Black Afro-Caribbean and Black British, and White British.

Healthwatch Kent have met with ICES to present our findings and recommendations.
