Throughout 2018, Healthwatch Kent and Healthwatch Medway visited 6 community mental health units.

As part of a series, we are releasing eight reports over the next few weeks to highlight our findings.

Healthwatch Kent visited Arndale House in Dartford in October 2018 to hear about patients’ experiences of community mental health services. While most people felt involved in their care and praised the support provided by the crisis team, concerns were raised about difficulties contacting the clinic by phone, delays in call-backs, and access to medication.

Our report includes recommendations to improve communication, prescription processes, and patient information.
