Patient experiences at Laurel House, Canterbury

22 January 2019

Throughout 2018, Healthwatch Kent and Healthwatch Medway visited 6 community mental health units.

As part of a series, we are releasing eight reports over the next few weeks to highlight our findings.

Healthwatch Kent visited Laurel House in Canterbury in October 2018 to hear about patients’ experiences of community mental health services. People generally felt involved in their care, but raised concerns about communication, delays in receiving appointments and prescriptions, and a lack of information about other support services.

Our report recommends improvements to communication, signposting, follow-up support, and access to crisis services.
