Experiences of patients at The Beacon, Ramsgate

Throughout 2018, Healthwatch Kent and Healthwatch Medway visited 6 community mental health units.

As part of a series, we are releasing eight reports over the next few weeks to highlight our findings.

Healthwatch Kent visited The Beacon Community Mental Health Clinic in Ramsgate in October 2018 to hear from patients and carers about their experiences. Overall, people spoke positively about crisis support, involvement in their care, and access to additional services, although some highlighted issues with appointment cancellations, communication, and support between appointments.

Our report makes recommendations to improve care planning, communication, and patient support.
